Kier Group and all the companies in our Group have robust systems in place to minimise fraud. However, we are aware that there remains a risk of our brand and/or corporate identity being abused in order to commit fraud or other criminal activities targeted at our customers and suppliers.
These attempts may come from multiple channels including emails, websites, social media and careers portals.
We take these matters very seriously and have proactive processes and systems in place to address the risk of fraud. However, we need our customers, members of our supply chain and others connected with Kier or who wish to work with Kier to remain vigilant.
Stop and think before you click
It is important to be aware of potential ‘red flags’ that may indicate that Kier’s brand or corporate identity is being used in an attempt to defraud you.
Look out for:
- Incorrect domain name – Kier use the domain name www.kier.co.uk, which also underpins any emails sent by us, so beware of emails received from anything other than a ‘kier.co.uk’ email address (for example kierconstruction.co.uk or kiergroup.co.uk)
- Grammatical errors and typos – Grammatical errors and spelling mistakes in the body of an email may also indicate a fraudulent email
- Suspicious requests – Be cautious of any unexpected requests for sensitive information, changes to payment details or unexpected payments. If ever in doubt, please reach out directly to your primary contact using your original contact details (and not those on any suspicious correspondence). Ignore any requests for changes to bank details – we have a strict verification process regarding such changes
- Look out for purchase orders which may be unusual
- Kier does not charge a fee at any stage of its recruitment process
If you receive any suspicious communication or have concerns about the legitimacy of a request, please contact us immediately via your known contact at Kier or on the Contact us page on our website or creditcontrol@kier.co.uk in the event you have concerns about an invoice.
If you suspect that you have been the victim of fraud, please report this to the relevant law enforcement authorities via Action Fraud, also informing Kier so that we can take appropriate action.
Thank you for your vigilance and cooperation.
